Dear Prospective CHT Counselor,

Greetings from The Valerie Fund’s Camp Happy Times! We are excited to hold our 35th camp session this year!

Camp Happy Times 2017 will begin on Monday, August 14th and end on Sunday, August 20th. Counselors are invited to arrive on Sunday, Aug 13th and stay at The Lodge at Keen Lake, as a guest of TVF/CHT.  If you are not able to join us at the lodge on Sunday, Aug. 13th, please remember, you must arrive on Monday, Aug 14th no later than 10:00am.

Thank you for considering lending your time and enthusiasm to join us at CHT 2017!

The 2016 application for The Valerie Fund’s Camp Happy Times is attached.  Since the application is able to be completed online, it should take only a few minutes to submit all of your information.  Complete all of the sections and review the Volunteer Conduct Guidelines.  These guidelines should be read carefully and must be followed throughout your relationship with Camp Happy Times.  Your signature indicates your acceptance of these terms. 

Please complete the application by March 15, 2017.  We continue to receive an overwhelming response from volunteers, therefore participation in camp cannot be guaranteed, even for returning volunteers. Please return your completed application in a timely manner. Applications received after the due date will be reviewed depending on available space. You will be contacted after your application is received to arrange an interview time and date. Please remember to bring your insurance cards and identification to the interview.

Staff Development will be held on Sunday, July 16th, 2017 at the Westminster Hotel in Livingston, NJ from 10am – 4pm.  All New counselors must attend the orientation.  This will be a great opportunity to meet other volunteers, learn about what to expect at camp, and what you need to prepare.  Returning counselors are required to attend at a minimum of every other year.
