Legends Gallery at Frames On Main Presents - Fiore Della Vita

Chatham, NJ...Legends Gallery at Frames On Main will be presenting Fiore Della Vita (flower of life), photographs of rare orchids and flowers by Dr. Jonathan Singer. The show will open on Sunday, February 12th with a reception for the artist from 1pm - 5pm. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Valerie Fund.
Dr. Jonathan Singer has been experimenting with photographic techniques for many years, searching for the technology that would enable him to recreate the painterly style of Northern Renaissance Classicism. The works of Vermeer and Rembrandt have been inspirational and he particularly admires the colors and exacting compositions these artists have perfected. Finding beauty in both the most exotic orchids and the best loved familiar flowers, he has produced a collection of photographic prints that he feels exemplify his goals as an artist. Above all, he strives to elicit an emotional response in the viewer, engaging him in the artistic process. Marc Hachadourian, Botanical Curator for this exhibition and Curator of Glasshouse Collections at the New York Botanical Garden, comments: "When I look at flowers with a botanist's eye, I see them intensely. By this I mean I see the structure, the layers of fibers, the intricacies of the plant - a beautiful thing of amazing complexity. Singer's photographs capture this complexity and allow us to see these flowers with a new awareness and appreciation." Dr. Singer currently practices at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ where he is a doctor of podiatry.

Frames On Main is located at 7 North Passaic Avenue, in Chatham New Jersey. The full service framing shop and gallery has been in business since 1991 and specializes in sports memorabilia.
