Under the Musical Direction of Bobby Bandiera, The Hope Concert is an annual community benefit concert produced by the Count Basie Theatre starring an All-Star lineup of Jersey Shore musicians. All the musicians are volunteering their time, the theatre is donating its venue and the theatre's staff is working for free so that as close to 100% of the proceeds as possible may benefit the charity. This year's recipient is The Valerie Fund, a nonprofit organization providing support for the comprehensive health care of children with cancer and blood disorders, including right here in Monmouth County at The Children's Hospital at Monmouth Medical Center.
The Valerie Fund is supported through corporate and foundation grants, special and community events, individual donations, bequests and direct mail solicitations. The organization is located at 2101 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, NJ.
