Mille Finkel wins COCA award

On behalf of The Valerie Fund's Camp Happy Times, I would like to congratulate Millie Finkel on receiving the 2005 COCA-Int'l Spirit Award. Nominated by her peers, the Spirit Award was presented to Millie in Atlanta at the 23rd annual COCA conference this past Saturday. Millie was rather surprised, but let's faces it- she deserved it!!

The Spirit of COCA Award is an annual award that recognizes outstanding dedication to oncology camping by an individual associated with a COCA member camp. This award recognizes anyone who makes a significant difference in the success of a camp, who goes the extra mile to make camp great for campers and staff, and who contributes significantly to the COCA organization.

COCA, Children's Oncology Camping Association International, is an international assembly of people providing camping programs for children with cancer. As a member camp of COCA, Camp Happy Times has the opportunity to network and learn with fellow oncology camps. COCA also provides guidelines and resources for pediatric oncology camps to assist camps in providing a safe and memorable experience for their campers.
