Take a step to find a CURE!
On May 9, 2013, I was 19 years old when I was diagnosed with Glioblastoma on my brain stem. I've been receiving medications and treatments as an outpatient at The Valerie Fund Center in Newark Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, New Jersey. The Valerie Fund is near and dear to my heart, for it has been a wonderful resource for my family and I for the last years. Without them, I would not have been in remission and living my life today. My family is infinitely grateful for the services and knowledge that have been received. This non-profit organization has helped my family and I tremendously, and now, I would love to give back again. The Valerie Fund aids in supporting the health care of children with cancer and blood disorders, and so it is important to help keep this organization going. It changes and enhances the lives of so many! The Valerie Fund is a not-for-profit organization established in 1976 in memory of nine-year-old Valerie Goldstein by her parents, Ed and Sue. The Valerie Fund's mission is to provide support for the comprehensive health care of children with cancer and blood disorders. Families turn to The Valerie Fund because of the unique combination of medical care, counseling, and other services it provides.
September 25th is The Valerie Fund Walk/JAG Physical Therapy 5K Run and Charlotte's CUREsaders is again participating in this event! I want to ask you all, regarding that this cancer foundation helped me defeat cancer, if you can help me give back by donating or signing up to join to be part of my team in a walk or run to help raise money for cancer.
On the first year team Charlotte's CUREsaders raised $10,859.02 and out of all the 276 teams, we helped The Valerie Fund raise $1,066,945.50. This year let's try to raise more! Charlotte's CUREsaders won second place 2 years ago for having one of the biggest team so it will be a big help if you can tell your family, friends, and co-workers about it so we can achieve our team's goal of having the biggest team. Come support Charlotte’s CUREsaders on September 25th for a day of empowerment and enjoyment! Come help the lives of many! If you cannot sign up to virtual walk or run on that day, then please consider making a donation to my team for all the children of The Valerie Fund. Every bit counts, thank you and hope you can come!
